The GCHQ board announced this week that their Oakley base is to close.
Staff from Oakley will be transferred from Oakley to Benhall throughout 2011 and Oakley will be closed in 2012 and the land will be sold off.
Their press release says that the Benhall site, known locally as the 'Doughnut' has the capacity to take the staff from Oakley.
The decision has been made to save costs but no information has been given out on exactly how much this will save.
